Itinerary Details

This trip contains the cultural and natural essence of Nepal and China. The tour starts from Nepal including Kathmandu, Chitwan and Polkala, offering you an opportunity to experience the rich culture, amazing Himalaya views and exciting jungle exploration. In China, you will get close to Lhasa, Gyantsel, Shigatse, the cultural triangle in central Tibet. It will be a spiritual experience to visit the Potala Palace. Besides, you will also get close to the lovable pandas in Chengdu, and unveil the secret of Terracotta Warriors in ancient capital, Xi'an. The tour to the Forbidden City and the Great Wall will be a perfect end for your trip.

Welcome to Kathmandu!

Upon arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted with warm welcome by your private guide and transferred to your hotel. The rest of day is free at leisure. You can relax in the hotel or explore the surroundings on your own.

You will start your tour of Kathmandu from the bustling bazaars in Ason where you can see various vegetable, spice and textiles.

Next, walk to the grand Kathmandu Durbar Square. It is the centre of the old city and preserve the temples and palaces complex from the 12th to the 18th century. There are a number of splendid temples to visit, including Kasthamandap, Taleju Temple, Kal Bhairab (God of Destruction), Kumari Bahal, etc. If lucky, you may have a chance to see the living goddess in Kumari Bahal.

Then visit Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple. Located on a small hillock in west Kathmandu, it boasts excellent view of the valley. The stupa was built in 460 A.D. by King Manadev and soon became an important center of Buddhism.

Afterwards, go head the Pashupatinath Temple. Known as temple of burning corpse, it is the largest and holiest shrines for Hindus. Situated on the bank of Bagmati river, it was built in the 5th century. Although only Hindus are allowed to enter the temple, visitors can clearly see the temple and the activities performed in the temple from the eastern bank of the Bagmati river. After the tour, return to hotel.

You will transfer to Nagarkot. En route, you can stroll in Bhaktapur Durbar Square. In ancient Bhaktapur, you can admire the medieval Nepalese art and architecture anywhere. The exquisite religious architecture, ancient palace courtyards, narrow alleys and vibrant squares are the highlights.

After checking in at Nagarkot, you will enjoy the splendid panoramic view of eastern Himalaya with sunset.

Wake up in early morning to witness beautiful sunrise over Himalaya. Nagarkot is famous as the best viewing point of Himalaya, here you will catch the remarkable view of towering snow mountains.

In the morning, you will take an excursion to Sarangkot - a beautiful village located on a mountainside ridge at an altitude of 1600m with panoramic Himalayan views. You can also see the traditional folk houses and encounter local residents on the way.

Then, drive to see the Devis Fall, a stream from Phewa Lake falls straight down and vanishes underground through a natural cave. Then walk across the Devis Fall area and pay a visit to Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave. It is one of the longest caves in Nepal at 2950 meters and is a sacred cave enshrined Hindu gods.

Next, take a short hike to World Peace Stupa that situated at an altitude of almost 1000 meters on the southwest of Pokhara. Once reach the top, you can enjoy the wide panoramic view of stretching towering mountains. While seeing the stunning natural sights around, you will immerse yourself in the peaceful ambience.

Afterwards, you will take a relaxing journey on Fewa Lake. Take a beautifully painted boats or walk around the lakeshore, you will enjoy the beauty and serenity of the lake and mountains. Besides, the most important religious monument of Pokhara, Barahi Temple, is located on an island at the center of Fewa Lake.

After breakfast, check out and drive to Chitwan (Approx. 4 hours). Chitwan National Park is the most popular destination for tourists who want to experience Nepal's wildlife. It’s home to the last populations of single-horned Asiatic rhinoceros and the Bengal tiger. You have chance to come across numerous of wildlife, such as one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tiger, leopard, sloth bear, wild elephant, wild bison, etc.

Upon arrival at your resort, check-in. In the afternoon, enjoy sunset view from Rapti River Beach.

You will participate in full day jungle activities like bird watching, elephant safari, canoe ride and nature walk.

Wake up in the morning and take a nature walk to discover various birds. Then you will start jungle safari on elephant back to see different kinds of deer, rhinoceros, wild boar, leopard and many other smaller animals. Afterwards, proceed for Dugout Canoe Ride along with Rapti River to see rare species of crocodile.

In the late afternoon, you will visit Tharu village on an ox-drawn cart. The village itself is comprised of several mud and reed huts. You can see the domestic and farm animals roam around. And there’s a small museum which displays the tools and traditional clothes people use out in the field. In the evening, Tharu Tribal Dance will be presented by the local Tharu villagers.

Upon arrival at Lhasa Gongar International Airport, you will be welcomed by your private tour guide and transferred to your hotel at Lhasa. The rest of the day is free, you can acclimatize the high altitude.

In the morning, you will start your tour from awe-inspiring Potala Palace. Situated at high land above much of Lhasa, Potala Palace is the landmark of the city. The whole Palace is consisted of Red and White Palace. The white Palace was for secular use and the Red Palace was for religious use. This traditional Tibetan architecture with 13 floors was used for the former residence of the Dalai Lama, including over 1,000 rooms, various statues, stupas, murals and artifacts.

Later, pay a visit to the Jokhang Temple-- the spiritual center for Buddhists in Tibet, which is visited by countless pilgrims. Then take a stroll down Barkhor Street. It is the oldest and traditional street in Tibet. It is also a place where Tibetan culture, economy, religion and arts assemble. Tibetan handicrafts are offered in the shops.

In the morning, you will head for Norbulingka - a traditional summer palace and residence starting from the 7th Dalai Lama. It is also the place where they conduct their affairs and religious activities. The whole garden covers an area of 46 hectares, with more than 370 rooms of different sizes, known as “garden of the garden”. It is the largest, most scenic and most historic garden in Tibet.

Then continue to Drepung Monastery. It is known for the high standards of its academic study and is the highest status the monastery in Gelug Order. It used to be the former state monastery of Tibet, which served as the headquarters for the Dalai Lama before moving to the Potala Palace.

After lunch in the local restaurant, you will proceed to monastery of Sera, which is one of the “Three Great Monasteries” of the Gelug Order. Today, about several hundreds monks live and study here. The highlight is the debating at around 3 - 5 o'clock in the afternoon. When you arrive at the debating court at this time, you will see groups of monks excitedly debating in a living atmosphere.

Today your journey continues to Gyantse, you will find the horses and yaks along the way. Your first stop is at the crystal-clear Yamdrok Lake-- one of the three largest holy lakes in Tibet. It is the largest inland lake in the northern foothills of the Himalayas. Yamdrok lakeside is a highland pasture with clear water and rich grass. Meanwhile, you can catch the spelendid views of the stretched mountains and the snow-capped mountains at distance.

Then move on to Gyangtse Pelkor Chode. The Monastery(4000m) is a typical Tibetan Buddhist temple building combined with a pagoda temple, and is the only one completely preserved to today. With a large group of monumental buildings, it is known as the king of the pagoda in Tibet. There is also the famous Kumbum, a chorten containing many sacred images.

Afterwards, drive about 1.5 hours and you will arrive in Shigatse, which is the second largest city in Tibet.

In Shigatse, you will visit Tashilunpo Monastery before driving back to Lhasa. The monastery covering 70,000 sq metres, is now the largest functioning religious institution in Tibet and is also the seat of the 11th Panchen Lama, recognized by the Chinese government. The huge golden statue of the Future Buddha is the largest gilded statue in the world. You will get a glimpse into the life of the monks and their studying and teaching of Buddhist here.

Then you will drive back to Lhasa following Yalong Valley. You can stand on the viewing platform and overlook the vast Yalong River bed. Finally transfer back to your hotels in Lhasa.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Sanxingdui Museum, where you will get historical and cultural knowledge about this area of China. Sanxingdui, the ruins of the capital of the ancient Shu, a Kingdom over 4,000 years ago, is located in Guanghan City. In 1986, a great number of relics were brought to lights, among which six pieces are evaluated as national treasures, representing the best of the art of copper in China.

In the morning, you will first visit the Panda Breeding and Research Center. Ya'an is the very place where the panda was first found in China. Now that it has been selected as the latest giant panda protection base in China. You'll see many pandas at one time that we cannot realize in other places all over the world.

Afterwards, drive to Jinli Old Street in Chengdu . Walking in this street, historic lanes, old official residences, vernacular dwelling, inns and shops will take you back to the ancient China. The elegant style of the architectures tell you what Sichuan looks like during the Qing Dynasty. Sichuan Culture is inlayed in this ancient street.

In the afternoon, we will drive you to Chengdu railway station for a high-speed train to Xi’an. Xi'an, the ancient capital of China with a 2000-year history and the largest city in northwest China. It is a great place to explore.

Today you'll head for the countryside surrounding Xi'an and visit what is undoubtedly one of the man-made wonders of the world – the Terracotta Warriors. These clay statues of soldiers, horses and chariots – each individually sculpted from clay, each has a different costume, height, and even facial expressions, standing in battle formation.

After lunch, you will visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda - a landmark building of Xi'an. It is a well-preserved holy place for Buddhist with a history of over 1300 years. Drive back to hotel in the late day.

In the morning, you will be impressed by this close-up experience! The ancient City Wall - one of the most famous attractions in Xi'an. Today, this wall represents one of the oldest and best preserved Chinese city walls, as well one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world.

The next stop of your journey is the Great Mosque. It is the largest and best-preserved mosque in Xi'an. It assumes the striking features of Chinese pavilions, with painted beams and engraved ridgepoles. You will be amazed by the not so typical construction of this mosque.

Today, we'll pay a visit to Tiananmen Square, which is the largest public square in the world. While strolling in Tian'anmen Square, looking up at the magnificent layout, the majestic momentum, the vast and deep landscape, you will feel China's rapid development.

Today's highlight is next - the Forbidden City. It is the largest and most complete ancient imperial palace in the world. In its 500 years of history, there were 24 emperors living here. Experiencing several times renovation and expansion during the Ming and Qing dynasties, the Forbidden City is still remaining its original layout.

Then visit the Temple of Heaven, which was used to pray for harvest by the emperors. It's China's existing largest structure for sacrificing to heaven. This Chinese monument is built entirely in wood, without using a single nail, which has become the symbol of Beijing.
