Welcome to Luang Prabang!

Upon arrival at Luang Prabang airport, you will be welcomed by our guide and then transferred to your hotel. After relaxing, you will be taken to a local restaurant for enjoying a tasty dinner. Later, you can spend your free evening joining the lively Night Market or relaxing at the hotel.

Get up early in this morning, you will have a chance to participate in an important ceremony - morning alms giving. Every morning, the pious local people offer their today's first pot of rice to Buddhist monks. This tradition is very unique in Laos, which is the only Buddhist nation that still preserves the procession. Then stop to visit the fresh local market and back to hotel for breakfast.

Start today's sightseeing with a visit to the ancient Wat Xieng Thong Temple, which is a magnificent temple built since 1560. We will also visit Wat Visoun, which houses a large stupa with 34 meters high.

In the afternoon, spend some time visiting the Royal Palace Museum. It is a grand palace with various cultural relics. Next, visit the nearby the Wat Mai. The impressive temple is one of Luang Prabang ‘s largest and most richly decorated temples. After the tour, transfer back to your hotel.

After breakfast at hotel, your private guide will pick you up from hotel to participate in the Bamboo Experience (closed on Sunday). The experience takes place in a rustic pavilion on traditional Lao style next to vast rice paddy fields. There you will learn how bamboo is used to make various household items and experience fun Lao childhood games with metal balls, crossbow arrow, and bamboo stilts. You will also engage in a relaxing bamboo weaving course with the guides of an expert. You can weave a mat made from strips of the bamboo as a souvenir.

Then, enjoy a hands-on cooking class using the bamboo shoot as the main ingredients. Make dishes such as bamboo shoot soup, bamboo shoot steamed in banana leaf, Lao sticky rice and more. Afterward, savor your creations in the pavilion terrace.

In the afternoon, travel outskirt of Luang Prabang and drive through green rice paddies and farms. Stop to visit a few villages of H’mong and Lao Loum people. Your guide will introduce you to the local people, which is a great opportunity for you to involve in their daily activities such as weaving, rice harvesting and picking green vegetable.

On your arrival at the Kuang Si waterfalls, you can enjoy the spectacular views of waterfalls and surrounding of orchids inside the park. The falls cascade over many calcified tiers and down several hundred feet into a series of cool and turquoise pools. Jump into the cool water and enjoy your relaxing time. After the tour, return to Luang Prabang.

This morning, your private guide will pick you up to the pier where you will board a traditional long tail boat for a relaxing cruise trip on the Mekong River. During the journey, you can enjoy stunning scenery and tranquil countryside. Then, you will reach Pak Ou caves at the confluence of the Mekong and Nam Ou Rivers. In the two linked caves display hundreds of sacred centuries-old Buddha statues which are the objects of pilgrimage during the Lao New Year festivities around mid-April.

Cruise back Luang Prabang, we will stop to visit Ban Xanghai, a small village which is famous for local rice wine (Laos whiskey) and hand weaving. After returning to Luang Prabang, you are free at leisure.

Pak Ou Caves

Today, we depart early and drive through spectacular scenery to Xieng Khouang Province, the home of the Plain of Jars. Hundreds of jars scatter in Plain of Jars. The mysterious jars have been dated from around the 5th or 6th century, which are believed to be funeral jars.

There are many stunning photo opportunities along the way and a couple of stops to explore hill tribe villages. After checking in at your hotel in Phonsavan, you have time to walk through the town or sip your drink at the hotel.

After breakfast, we head out to explore the Plain of Jars. We will visit Sites 1, 2, 3, which are impressive archaeological sites including hundreds of large stone jars.

Spend some time walking around on the marked paths. It is truly a peaceful area on a hillside and is impressed by the jars scattered in groups around the hillside. The hill is littered with bomb craters from the Vietnam - American War. If you make it to this part of the world, the excursion is worth your effort.

After the tour, you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Vientiane. On arrival, you will be welcomed by our guide and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, you can relax at hotel or explore the surroundings on your own.

Contrary to other modern and busy capitals, Vientiane is the laidback capital of Laos. Today, your private guide will take you to explore the hidden charms of Vientiane. You will firstly visit Wat Si Saket which is the oldest surviving temple with thousands of Buddhist images. You will also visit the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which houses the famous Emerald Buddha Image.

Next, proceed to the That Luang monument, a gold-covered large Buddhist stupa which is generally regarded as the national symbol of Laos. Continue to visit the Victory Monument dedicated to those who gave their lives for independence of Laos. Built to resemble Paris’ Arc de Triomphe, Patuxai offers a stunning view of the town and the Mekong River.

In the afternoon, we will drive to the Buddha Park. Set in the parkland on the banks of the Mekong, it is filled with over 200 Buddhist and Hindu statues. Spend some time exploring the park. Afterward, drive back to hotel.
