Sabah boasts the lush rainforest and various wildlife. This 7-day itinerary offers an opportunity to deeply venture into the hidden nature of Sabah, covering some of the best Sabah nature reserve, such as the Kinabatangan River of Sandakan and Danum Valley of Lahad Datu. You will experience varuous jungle activities in the pristine rainforest and come across various wildlife.
Welcome to Sandakan!
On arrival at Sandakan Airport, you will be welcomed by our tour guide and be transferred to the hotel for checking in.
The rest of day is free to relax.

After breakfast, you will head to famous Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre situated in the Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve. Upon arrival, you will watch a short video documentary to learn about the rehabilitation of orphaned Orang Utan. At feeding time, you will walk on boardwalk through the rainforest to the feeding platform where you can witness the Orang Utan feeding. You may also encounter Orang Utans closely when they frolic in the natural habitat.
Afterwards, you will drive towards Sukau, one of the richest ecosystems on the Lower Kinabatangan River(2 hours). Upon arrival at Kampung Bilit, hop on a boat down the river to your accommodation.
After checking in, the real adventure will start. You will join a Kinabatangan River Cruise to discover wildlife along the river. It is a good chance to spot endemic Proboscis Monkeys, gibbons and rare bird species, and even rare Pygmy Elephants if lucky. After river cruise, have dinner in the dining hall. In the evening, you can go for a complimentary night safari cruise where you can spot nocturnal animals, crocodiles and birds.

In the morning, wake up to the call of Gibbons and Hornbills. Then, take a morning cruise to the Ox-bow Lake for watching birds and enjoying tranquil moments amidst the lush rainforest. Following the narrow channel to the large lake, you have many chances to spot wild animals, such as orangutans, macaques, proboscis monkeys, crocodiles.
Return for breakfast, later proceed to an educational tour along the lodge’s Hornbill Boardwalk to learn more about the Kinabatangan Ecosystem.
After the tour, return to your forest lodge and enjoy leisure time on your own. In the evening, you can go to spot more wildlife on the Sukau Kinabatangan River Bank or go trekking.

In the morning, check out and take a boat to Sukau Village (Lepit Jetty), then you will drive to Gomantong Caves. It is the largest bird’s nest cave in Sabah and the home to millions of bats and swiftlets. Tourists can see the collection of bird's nest from February to August every year.
Next, continue your overland journey to Lahad Datu. Upon arrival, check in at your accommodation(3.5 hours). After having a rest, walk along the trails scattered around the area. There are over 300 species of birds in Danum Valley. Other notable species which hang around close to the lodge, including orangutans, gibbons, deer, owls, and more. Snakes, lizards, insects, and frogs are also fantastic around the lodge. The frog pond just outside the property has a number of species, which is great for photography.

After breakfast, you will start today's exciting adventures. Follow your guide to enjoy a morning jungle trek. First, proceed to the Tree-top Canopy Walk to witness the lush rainforest. Then, trek further to the Kadazandusun Burial Site to witness the coffin cliff.
Next, proceed to the “view point” to feast your eyes with a bird’s eye view of Danum Valley. You can take a short break by the natural pool for a refreshing dip before returning to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, continue more nature trails as you wish, or go for a relaxing ‘tubing’ activity down the Danum River. After dinner, you can take a night walk to observe nocturnal wildlife.
