Explore the distinctive Lana culture in northern cities of Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai. You will delight in discovering the mysterious Golden Triangle, enjoying the serenity of sacred Doi Suthep mountain and having an elephant caring experience in Chiang Mai.

After breakfast, you will head to the mysterious Golden Triangle. It is famous as the opium trade center in the latter half of the 20th century and where you will witness the borders of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar.
While you take a boat to cruise along the Mekong River, you will unfold the picturesque view of Laotian countryside. Stop at Chiang Saen and explore the ruins of its historic ancient city. Then you will stop at Chiang Khong where the hill tribes gathering there and trading (both legally and illegally) with Northern Laos.
Afterwards, you will have chance to chat with locals from the Meo hill tribe and observe their lifestyle.

After breakfast, you will head to Chiang Mai. On the way, you will visit the Black House Museum (Baan Dam) and White Temple (Wat Rong Khun). Black House is Thawan Duchanee’s artful portrayal of hell. It feels hidden and mysterious place with new discoveries round each nook, all the time surprising.
Built with white glass, White temple is a delicate architecture with its quirky artwork stunning at every level. Take your time to admire this breathtaking artwork.

This morning you will get around the old town of Chiang Mai. You will visit Wat Pra Singh, the most visited temple in Chiang Mai with a fine example of Lanna temple architecture. And Wat Chedi Luang, was once the home of the Emerald Buddha and the temple was once the distinctive feature of the Chiang Mai skyline. It was originally 280 feet high and once partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1545. Then transfer to the Warorot market, to see the real northern people’s daily life. After your lunch at a local restaurant, you will be transferred to your hotel to have a rest.
In the late afternoon, you will head to Doi Suthep Mountain a few kilometers northwest of Chiang Mai. It is one of the most famous national parks in Northern Thailand. The main reason that many visitors go to the mountain is to visit the Wat Phra Thai Doi Suthep on the summit which is one of the most sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand. You will climb 309 steps up to the mountain (or you can take a tram for alternative by paying small surcharge). If the later afternoon, most visitors have already left the temple so that you will have a quiet time to enjoy the sacred of the serenity of the temple. At dusk, you can also listen to the evening chanting of the monks as you gaze at the glittering light of Chiang Mai below you.

After breakfast, you will be taken to the place to join the other people and take a bus for about 1 hour through the scenic agricultural area to the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary to start your half-day elephant caring trip. You will have a pleasant opportunity to spend a good time in this elephants’ natural home, and learn more about the history and behavior of elephants, and create precious lifelong memories of these amazing creatures. You will put on the traditional Karen costumes during your work. You can touch, take photos and play with the elephants. You will feed them with bananas and sugar cane, and walk them through the sanctuary.
