5 Best Beaches in Koh Lipe

Koh Lipe is an island located in Southern Thailand's Satun province near the Malaysian border. It is considered heaven on earth with amazing jungles, remote beaches, swaying palms, and calm waters. Koh Lipe has some of the most stunning reefs in Thailand, making it an excellent place for snorkeling and scuba diving.

Koh Lipe has white sandy beaches and electric blue water. The sunrises and sunsets are otherworldly experiences. However, due to its serene beauty and geographical location, it is popular amongst tourists from both Thailand and Malaysia. If you want to enjoy Koh Lipe Island with less crowd, you must visit it from May to October.

We have listed the five most breathtaking beaches in Koh Lipe to make it easy for you when you plan your trip.

Five Gorgeous Koh Lipe Beaches

Pattaya Beach

Pattaya Beach is located in the Southern part of the island and is the most popular beach on Koh Lipe. This beach is where the boats arrive when you visit Koh Lipe or go through immigration from Langkawi. The large shore is often covered with boats making swimming an unpopular activity. However, there are other fun activities on this powdery sand beach, including volleyball and Frisbee. You can also go kayaking in the bay. Pattaya Beach is also known for its nightlife and parties.

Sunset Beach

If you are looking for a small, more relaxed, secluded beach in Koh Lipe, Sunset Beach is perfect for you. Living up to its name, the Sunset Beach, or Hat Pramong is the place to see the most breathtaking sunsets with gorgeous reds and oranges reflecting on the water.

Since the beach is secluded, it is perfect for a peaceful walk or a dip in the water. Moreover, you can easily find a place to stay due to the many bungalows near the beach.

Sunrise Beach

Sunrise beach will surely gravitate you if you are more of a sunrise person than a sunset one. Sunrise Beach, also known as Hat Chao Ley Beach, is located at the opposite end of the walking street to Pattaya Beach. It is close to the town of Chao Ley, where mainly sea gypsies live.

With its sparkling water and beautiful marine life, this beach is snorkelers’ favorite. The cool breezy climate adds to the experience.

Sanom Beach

Sanom Beach is within walking distance from Pattaya Beach and is probably the most beautiful beach in Koh Lipe. The beach, unlike most beaches, is tiny, secluded, and less crowded. The water is extremely clear in shades of blues, and the sand is soft and white. On top of that, there is a high chance you might observe beautiful wildlife like small parrots, hornbills, and Mynah birds.

The beach is also perfect for swimming and scuba diving due to the calm water. However, there is only one resort, Sanom Beach Resort, but since the beach doesn't have many people, this beautiful resort is enough.

Billa Beach

Billa Beach is located between the Sunset and Pattaya beach on Southern Koh Lipe. This small secluded beach is one of the less popular beaches on Koh Lipe due to its rocky shore. However, this doesn't stop it from being a good place for snorkeling or diving. If you want to enjoy a small and private beach, then Billa Beach is perfect.
